Privacy
Your event, your photos, on a schedule you control.
This page explains what Momenti stores, who else touches it, and when it's deleted.
Who controls this data
Data controller
Momenti is operated by an individual trading as Momenti, based in Malta, who is the data controller for the information described on this page.
What we collect
Hosts
Your name, email and event details, including the event name, date, guest count and camera settings, are needed to run the event and process payment. Stripe handles payments. Momenti never stores your card number.
Guests
A display name you choose when joining, and the photos you capture. Guests never create an account and never provide an email or payment method.
Retention and deletion
How long photos are kept
Photos and event media are automatically and permanently deleted 90 days after the event date. This is a firm limit. Once it passes, the underlying files are removed from storage and cannot be recovered. Download anything you want to keep before then.
Reminder emails
If you have not downloaded any photos from your event, we'll email you a reminder in the two weeks before deletion. If you've already downloaded a photo or exported the full album, we don't send it.
Who we share data with
Sub-processors
Cloudflare (R2) stores photo files. Stripe processes host payments. Resend sends transactional emails (payment confirmations, export-ready notices, storage reminders). PostHog provides product analytics, described below. None of these providers use your data for their own purposes.
Product analytics
What we track
With your consent, we use PostHog to understand which pages and features people use, on which devices, so we can fix problems and improve the product. PostHog processes this data in the United States, under standard contractual clauses/the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We collect the pages you visit, the actions you take (like starting an event or opening the camera), and coarse device information (browser, screen size bucket, connection type). We do not collect your IP address, and screen recording is switched off.
What we never send
Names, email addresses, event names, guest names, private event codes, recovery or access codes, photo content, captions, or any other free text never reach our analytics tool, regardless of consent.
Withdrawing consent
A consent banner appears on your first visit; you can accept or reject analytics, and change your choice later from the settings control in the site footer. Rejecting, or withdrawing consent later, stops all analytics collection immediately for that browser.
Retention
Analytics events are retained in PostHog according to PostHog's standard Cloud retention terms, which we review periodically.
Your choices
Notification preferences
Hosts can control which of the (small number of) transactional emails they receive from their event dashboard settings.
Your rights
If EU/UK data protection law applies to you, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Since event media is deleted automatically 90 days after the event, most host and guest data has a built-in deletion point already. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@momenti.photos. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
